HD PTZ cameras

We look at the different ways a PTZ camera can be controlled using our DVR recorders or a separate controller. We also cover remote access to PTZ cameras and control them remotely over the internet.

A short video which explains the basic controls of a PTZ or pan, tilt, zoom camera. It covers movement, zoom level, pre-set points and tours between points using a stand alone controller.

Connecting a PTZ camera to a DVR recorder using RS485

In this video we see how a DVR recorder can be used to control a PTZ or pan, tilt, zoom camera. RS-485 is used to create a simple 2 wire network over which the cameras can be controlled. Several cameras can be controlled by a DVR in this way.

We look at different protocols such as Pelco P & D, as well as the Baud rate. This video was made some time ago and whilst the equipment has changed the principles remain the same.
