Buying used CCTV equipment may leave you with a dreaded uncertainty.

Mon 26th Sep 2011

Purchasing electrical equipment second hand can most certainly raise
alarm bells within many heads when reading this and for you to place your trust
in cameras and recording equipment, especially when you don’t have a clear and
concise idea of where the equipment was used in the past, can be an expensive
error.

You see, unless you can get good quality second hand equipment that
perhaps was purchased and not installed, or is sold for a very cheap price and
looks in reasonable condition or that can be tested, there really is no point
in buying it, and instead you should consider purchasing a new system.

Technology moves forward so quickly now that good quality products that
may have cost arm and a leg a few years ago will pale in comparison to cheaper,
more cost effective alternatives today, which have been designed to withstand
the same conditions yet perhaps feature more innovative components than
preceding models.

However at the end of the day the choice is yours but before making any
decisions, our advice is to shop around and be sure of the system you choose
before parting with your money.
