System 2 DVR recorder. 8 camera h.264 compression, network ready.

The latest generation of professional DVR recorders featuring up to the minute functionality. This 8 camera unit is ideal for more comprehensive CCTV systems. Using the well proven h.264 compression Codec hard drive space is maximised meaning more recording time for a given hard drive. Don't forget to order your hard drive, we suggest allowing around 250Gb per camera on your CCTV system. This DVR will take up to 2TB of hard drive space.

Remember that we fit and format hard drives for free when you order them together, we then configure the DVR recorder so it arrives plug and play. This can save you hours of head scratching and substantially speed up you set up time.

Controlling the DVR is straight forward and intuitive using the supplied mouse, there is also a remote control in the kit. As an option we sell a wireless mouse which allows you to still control the DVR if it is tucked away out of sight. A useful feature of this CCTV DVR recorder is it's full function remote access menu. This not only allows you to change settings on the DVR remotely over the internet or your local network but it also allows us to provide remote assistance should you need help. You will need to have the DVR recorder connected to you internet router / hub and configured for remote viewing for this to work. We offer a remote set up service if you are struggling to view your CTV system remotely.

The DVR features a number of useful functions.

Motion detected recording with individually selectable detection zones. You choose which area or areas of the image you want to use to detect movement, this helps to reduce the likelihood of false alarms from background movement, animals, changes in light and so on. You can also alter the sensitivity of the motion detection. You don't need external detectors or special cameras for motion detection with this recorder, the DVR does all the work.

The motion detection can also be set to email you a picture of what triggered the event. You receive a jpeg image showing what caused the motion detection. This is useful for monitoring sites remotely and far better than a simple alarm alert. An alarm tells you you might have a problem it but you have to drive to the site to find out if it was just a spider. Emailing a photo shows you exactly what caused the alert.

PTZ camera control. Pan tilt zoom cameras can be controlled by the DVR recorder using RS485 and the following protocol languages: Pelco P, Pelco D, Lilin, Minking, Neon, Star, Vido, DSCP, VISCA, Samsung, RM110, HY and N-control with baud rates from 110 to 921600. Up to 255 individual cameras can theoretically be controlled by the DVR recorder. You can control the camera's movement using the mouse on the DVR,via remote access to the DVR using your local network or the internet,  or even a mobile phone. The DVR allows you to programme individual target points then link them together to for a route along which the camera moves.

Scheduled recording lets you select different types of recording at various times of the day. For instance you may not want motion triggered recording during the day due to high traffic but at night or at weekends when no traffic is expected you can turn motion triggered recording on.

Multi choice camera display allows you to see a number of camera combinations on screen. Output is via either BNC or high resolution VGA up to 1280 x 1044. There is a customer facing "call" or "spot" monitor which shows individual cameras either on a static or scrolling basis. Individual camera names can be displayed and you can select where on the screen both the camera name and time stamp are shown.

High functionality remote access over the internet or your local network. You can see your cameras live, change settings on the DVR recorder, review recorded footage and make back up copies of previously recorded footage. Because the remote access is so good it also allows us to provide assistance remotely should you have any problems or questions. Remote access using a mobile phone also features a particularly high level of functionality.

This DVR is what's known as Hexaplex which means it continues recording even when you are making settings changes, backing up footage or remote accessing over the internet.

Individual camera selectable recording resolution allows you to select the recording resolution, bit rate and number of frames per second independently on each camera. This lets you fully manage your hard drive storage to maximise storage times without compromising critical camera recording quality. We always recommend recording all your cameras in D1 resolution but there are some situations where regulations require venues such as pubs and clubs to store footage for large amounts of time. Up to now that has meant you have to record in low resolution. With this DVR recorder you can have strategic cameras recording in high resolution and the rest of the system recording in lower resolution to provide the necessary extended storage times.

This DVR uses chassis thermal dispersion to do away with the need for a cooling fan. The result is near silent operation.

Multiple DVRs can be linked together using the CMS software which comes with the DVR recorder.
