Bespoke set up monitors are really expensive for what they are. You can easily spend over £100 on a small 3-4 inch unit which has no use once you've set up your cameras. To get round the problem we've come across these really cool little 7 inch televisions which have all the necessary connectors to allow you to use them as set up monitors.

You run the combined video and power lead from your DVR to the camera in the normal way. The DC power plug powers the TV and there is a piggy back lead to power up the camera. The output from the camera then plugs into the television and voila, you can see the output image from the camera.
This means you can point it in exactly the right direction and also adjust both the focus and zoom (when fitted) to perfection without the need for someone to shout instructions as they look at the DVR monitor output.
When you've finished, the TV can be used in the car or anywhere with a cigarette lighter power point. So for less than the cost of most professional cctv set up monitors you've got a TV and also a larger screen. It even comes with it's own remote control !!
