CCTV Help Advice and Demonstration Videos

If there is anything you’ve always wanted to know about CCTV but were too afraid to ask then here is the place to get answers. Ok so we’re not expecting to win an Oscars but bear with us. We sell CCTV not acting lessons! Everything on here is filmed using products from the website and they are our videos, so if you see something in the video you know it works exactly as you see it.

The videos cover a number of different topics. There are things to consider during the planning stage of your CCTV project. Where to position your CCTV cameras, what type to buy and install  and so on. Many of the points raised are common sense when you think about them but all too often people get it wrong. The points covered in these videos won’t cost you anything to implement but will reap good rewards in terms of effectiveness of a CCTV system. There are one of two tricks of the trade such as getting people to look straight into a CCTV camera so you get a good clear image of their face.

Technical aspects of operating the various CCTV products are covered. CCTV DVR recorders in particular are feature packed but understanding them and using the various functions can sometimes be confusing. We have tried to explain the various functions. Things like motion triggered recording which many will have heard about but not everyone fully understands. We even cover the basics like how to connect a CCTV camera to a digital video recorder.

Remote access to your CCTV cameras  is a feature many people are keen to exploit. We are unique in offering a remote set up service for this if your aren’t IT literate enough to set it up yourself and we also cover the topic in some of our videos. This lets you see exactly what you’re going to get whether accessing CCTV via an iphone or computer.

Some technologies are relatively unknown outside the world of CCTV system installation and planning, examples of these would be the use of video baluns and RS485 data transfer. The former allows video transmission using Cat5 cable, the latter allows a number of PTZ or pan, tilt, zoom CCTV cameras to be controlled using a single pair of wires. We show you what’s involved in setting up a multi camera PTZ system.

We also cover many of the CCTV products we sell, particularly the cameras. It’s all well and good to give your detailed still images, once again all our own – no brochure or manufacturer shots, but video footage really shows you in detail how things work and are put together.  This section of the website more than any encapsulates what’s good about CCTV42 , empowering you as a buyer to make the right decisions and purchase wisely.

We are always adding to this section as new products and technologies come along or we get lots of questions on a particular CCTV related topic which we feel would be better answered by way of a short film.

All the videos have been filmed using CCTV cameras and equipment from this site!
