CCTV Cameras for sale. Dome. Vandal Dome. Open Dome. Day / Night. Bullet. Covert
These are the eyes or your CCTV system so correct selection is essential. Where possible we always recommend using vari-focal or zoom lens cameras because by doing this you will be able to zoom your CCTV camera in or out during installation. This means you capture as much detail as possible of your chosen subject without wasting valuable pixels on non essential subject matter. It’s the most common mistake we see when evaluation different systems.
The other thing to bear in mind is that CCTV systems evolve over time and you may want to move or re-position a camera. Having the ability to zoom in or out during installation saves you having to buy another camera. Instead you can simply zoom in or out to suit the camera’s new location.
A zoom lens is by no means the only important feature of a good CCTV camera , there are many other factors to consider before selecting which cameras to pair up with one of the DVR recorders for sale on our site. The choice of electronics is critical and we do a huge amount of testing in this area. Using good quality Sony components is only a fraction of the solution. Correct selection of specific CCD and DSP chipsets from their vast range is the most important thing we do. Get this right and night time performance, daytime definition as well as the ability to cope with a wide range of operating conditions will be good. Get it wrong and whilst the camera’s technical specification will look good on paper it’s performance will be disappointing.
Where we are unusual within the world of CCTV is that we actually install and test all our products including the DVR recorders before we put them into stock. That way if there are any problems we identify them before it’s too late. This is in contrast to companies who rely on the marketing hype of different manufacturers which can sometimes be a little, well shall we say optimistic.
Because we stock a broad choice of camera styles and then a complete range of lenses within each CCTV camera type, vandal dome, open faced vandal dome, day night, covert and so on, you can have what’s right for your particular needs rather than what happened to be in stock with the dealer or on special offer from the wholesalers. It’s no good saying “also available” if you can’t get it for 6 or 8 weeks.
The final thing to remember is that your camera is only as good as the CCTV camera accessories you buy. Cabling, power supplies and connectors all play their part in achieving your aim of a good quality CCTV system.
As with all aspects of CCTV if you have any questions or need any help then get in touch either by email or on the telephone. We’d much rather you bought the right equipment and achieved great results because a happy customer is a vocal one. Even if you think your question is a silly one ask it, we guarantee you it won’t be
Internal Dome CCTV cameras

Internal Dome CCTV cameras
Designed solely for internal use and without built in infra - red lighting. These cameras will not film in total darkness although our cameras have electronics which are capable of filming down to as low as 0.01lux
There are 2 body styles, one for fixed focal length cameras (non zoom lens) and a more substantial body style for the zoom lens cameras.
There are a huge number of internal dome cameras on the market, we must have seen hundreds. We have selected good quality casings for both our fixed and varifocal lenses. These are some of the best on the market.
All the cameras have a 1/3 inch Sony CCD which is over twice the size of a 1/4 inch CCD fitted to most entry level dome cameras on the market. We also use very good quality Sony DSP chipsets as well.
The 3 axis ball type camera mount on the fixed lens cameras allow much easier installation and set up compared to conventional mounts which never seem to quite point in the right direction. The varifocal zoom lens cameras feature 3 axis mountings for the same reason
As with all the cameras on our website power and video connections are via industry standard DC and BNC plugs. All our DVR to camera cables are compatible and work as a simple plug and play.

Open faced vandal dome CCTV cameras
|
|
Open faced vandal dome CCTV cameras
Like tradition vandal dome cameras our open faced vandal dome cameras are extremely resilient with camera bodies that are constructed entirely from metal. The optical glass front is less protected than a traditional plexiglass vandal dome but tif you can live with this they perform better in total darkness due to more powerful IR lighting. They are also easier to position installed.
The design of these particular camera bodies really impressed us with some subtle features which make for a much easier installation. All the allen bolt fittings are front facing including the retaining ring lock screws which keep the camera in place once it has been positioned. Fixing bolts are self retained to stop them falling on the ground during installation, a simple thing but much appreciated when you`ve been on your knees for 10 minutes looking for a tiny screw that`s fallen on the ground !
The cameras are IP rated for outdoor use but are equally at home when used inside. The small open dome cameras in particular unobtrusively fit into most environments. The large open dome cameras feature varifocal zoom lenses which can be set during installation and make one camera suitable for a variety of different applications.
High quality Sony CCD and DSP chipset combinations give excellent results, in particular the low light capability has to be seen to be believed. Light levels almost black to the human eye still come up clearly and when the infra-red illumination switches on and the camera switches to black and white that sensitivity once again ensures great results.
IR lighting automatically switches on as light conditions fall making this a true day - night camera. The split optical glass means infra-red illumination shines through one part of the face whilst the lens films through a separate optical glass. This prevents internal reflection of light into the camera when filming at night.
Power and video connections are industry standard DC and BNC plugs making our cameras compatible with existing systems.

Traditional vandal dome CCTV cameras

Traditional vandal dome CCTV cameras
Designed for either internal or external use the camera`s lens and electronics are housed behind a clear plexiglass dome making them extremely resilient and suitable for high traffic areas or placement close to public contact. The camera body is an all metal construction which again improves impact resistance. They offer a high visual deterrent and the clear plexiglass dome makes seeing exactly where the camera is pointing more difficult.
Although IP rated and suitable for outdoor use vandal dome cameras can also be fitted internally. Many people prefer their more substantial build quality when compared to standard internal dome cameras. They also have the benefit of built in infra red illumination when compared to standard internal dome cameras.
There are many different models of vandal dome camera on the market but this one stood out for a number of reasons. The all metal construction and overall finish is one of the best on the market. A lot of thought has gone into the design of the camera to make installation easier. The plexiglass cover dome remains attached to the main body of the camera via a tether when removed meaning you don`t need two pairs of hands. Not only that but the dome retaining bolts are held captive rather than being allowed to fall onto the floor like most other designs.
Cable exit can be either from the rear of the camera or the side by simply removing the metal cable exit cover plate and
the 3 axis camera mounting bracket means positioning is easier than many vandal dome cameras on the market.
Built in infra-red illumination automatically switches on when light levels drop, the camera switches to black and white and filming is then possible in total darkness. Sensitive Sony electronics allow filming in light levels as low as 0.01 lux even without the infra red illumination. After automatically switching to infra-red mode the fact the electronics are highly sensitive means you get particularly good results when filming under IR in total darkness.
If you are thinking of using these traditional vandal dome cameras it is also worth considering our open faced vandal dome cameras. These have improved infra red lighting and are a little easier to position once installed. The trade off being the fact that the electronics are housed behind a glass front rather than a plexiglass one.

Standard body day / night CCTV cameras

Standard body day / night CCTV cameras
The backbone of the CCTV industry these are a rugged metal cased camera suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. There are literally hundreds of different designs on the market with many different electronics combinations available in each one. We specify our own Sony electronics for al the day / night cameras we sell.
IP rated for outdoor use the cameras can also be installed internally. The cable managed mounting bracket protects connecting cables and ensures a neat installation. Cables can be either surface mounted or rear exit from the camera. Camera positioning is extremely simple and secured in place with locking allen screws. A suitable allen key is supplied with each camera.
The cameras come complete with their own built in infra-red, or IR, illumination. This automatically switches on as light levels fall and the camera changes from colour to black and white. we have been extremely careful with our electronics selection to ensure sensitivity at low light conditions and this also plays dividends when filming using the infra red light source. The camera can make best use of it as well as any other background light it may find.
A separate optical glass lens cover ensures there is no reflection back into the camera from the infra red lights. There is also a cowling to shield the lens from sunlight which can be adjusted or even removed if the camera is being used indoors.
Vari-focal lens adjustment when fitted is extremely easy without the need for special tools.

Premium Day / Night cameras

Premium Day / Night cameras
These premium Day / Night CCTV cameras feature not only our Diamond Sony electronics pack but also a host of other features which improves functionality and makes installation easier.
Starting with ease of installation each CCTV camera in this range can be mounted on any surface: vertical, horizontal, top or bottom fix. They also feature a 3rd axis of adjustment which allows you level the horizon once the camera has been fitted. This feature compensates for surfaces which aren't perfectly plumb and allows 180 degrees of flexibility in any direction, (see the mounting range as half a sphere behind the camera).
The large mounting surface means the fixing screws are easily accessible enabling the use of power tools. Because the main body rotates on the mount you can also swivel it round to allow easy access to all 4 screws. There aren't any hard to reach screws hiding under the camera's body.
The cameras all feature a video take off point and come with a BNC fly lead which plus into it. This means that when the cameras are installed with hidden wiring (the cables exiting through the wall) it is still possible to use a CCTV set up monitor with ease. The large mounting foot also means there is no danger of mounting screws failing because they are too close to the cable hole in the wall.
All the cameras feature adjustable Infra red, I/R illumination allowing it to be turned up or down to suit different applications.
The cameras also feature an on-screen display accessed via control buttons underneath the camera which allows custom setting of key functions including electronic shutter speed, back light compensation, automatic gain control, white balance, camera ID, mirror image, privacy blanking, day - night functionality and so on. Most people use the cameras as supplied in fully automatic mode but there may be specific applications where custom settings are needed.
All the cameras in this range are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and are IP rated to IP66. The sunshade can be adjusted or totally removed if required. Styling-wise the cameras have a modern almost scientific look making them suitable for almost any environment, they also act as a high visual deterrent.
There are a number of lens options available including 2.8-11mm ultra wide to mid telephoto, 9-22mm general purpose to telephoto and a stunning 6-60mm wide general purpose to ultra telephoto for amazing detail at distance.
ANPR CCTV Cameras

ANPR CCTV Cameras
Capturing vehicle number plates on CCTV is a requirement in a lot of CCTV Systems and something we get asked for regularly. During daylight hours it's a fairly simple task providing the camera has a powerful enough telephoto lens so you can fill enough of the screen with the plate thus allowing it to be retrieved from pre-recorded footage.
The problem comes at night when the highly reflective number plates bleach out when filmed, (one of the reasons you usually see foreign white rather than reflective number plates used in example photos). The solution is to concentrate on the number plate rather than the image surrounding it. Infra-red illumination is often used but this has the disadvantage of only giving black and white images during daylight hours, (all cameras film black and white at night).
Traditionally ANPR or Automotive number plate recognition, cameras have been very expensive, typically over £1,000 per unit. We have worked with our camera manufacturers to come up with a workable solution for a fraction of that amount.
Non infra-red CCTV bullet cameras
|
|
Non infra-red CCTV bullet cameras
These professional quality metal bodied cameras are the perfect solution for discreet monitoring in areas which are always illuminated.
A high quality Sony CCD and Sony DSP chipset combine to provide clear video even in low light conditions and film down to 0.01 lux. Most bullet cameras use 1/4 inch image sensors, normally CMOS type. We have specified a 1/3 inch Sony CCD sensor to provide better quality images.
The camera comes with a mounting bracket which can be angled in all directions to best suit your needs then locked in position.
We stock a number of different lens combinations within the range including a 4-9mm vari-focal zoom lens version.
As with all our cameras video and power connections are made using industry standard BNC and DC plugs respectively. This allows the cameras to be incorporated into existing CCTV systems and provides an element of future proofing.

PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) Speed Dome CCTV cameras
|
|
PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) Speed Dome CCTV cameras
These PTZ (pan tilt zoom) cameras really add versatility to any cctv system. They are controlled via RS485, a simple 2 wire system using industry standard protocol "languages".
There are two ways to use this camera. Either use any of our DVR recorders to control the movement. In this way you can control pan tilt and zoom via the DVR`s remote control or the control panel on your web browser (internet explorer). This also means if your DVR is connected to the internet via your internet hub you can control the movement from anywhere in the world !
The other way to control the movement is via an RS485 PTZ controller. Using this method you can programme pre-set target points and either move directly to them at any time or use them as stop off points on a tour of several different points. Up to 99 cameras can be connected to a controller, each with their own set of points and tours. This method is particularly well suited to retail situations where a number of cameras can be combined to provide a very professional looking cctv system. It`s worth mentioning that the zoom function is also part of the pre-set points so if you zoom in or out that is stored as well as the camera`s position.
Movement is controlled via a simple industry standard 2 wire RS485 interface and the cameras support the following languages : Pelco P4800, Pelco P 9600, Pelco D 2400
Pan / Scan speed is adjustable. Tilt speed is also adjustable. The cameras have a choice of up to 256 identity numbers for use on multiple camera systems.
As with all our cameras power and video connection is via industry standard DC and BNC connectors respectively and any of the camera to DVR leads will work with this camera. Movement is controlled by simple 2 core RS485 wire available in the
accessory section.
